“I’m a doctor, not an insurance actuary!” We like to spend our time with you, not filling out forms. It keeps our quality high (there are no accountants telling us how to practice) and our costs low. It means our goal is to care for you, not kowtow to insurance company executives. When we were developing the Oasis, we discovered that our costs might triple if we started entering into contracts with insurers. Instead, we give you the documentation you need to request reimbursement directly from your insurance company. We will not bill insurance companies nor accept payment from institutional third parties.
Unfortunately, Medicare and Medi-Cal will not reimburse for our services.
In Sacramento County, all Medi-Cal mental health funds are administered by the county government. You must go through the Mental Health Access Team to get Medi-Cal funded psychiatric care. They can be reached by telephone at (916) 875-1055. If you want a different level of care, though, you are absolutely welcome at Medical Oasis (many of our patients are also enrolled in County programs), but you will have to pay for it yourself.
